Privacy Policy

Youssor (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is an Islamic companion app for Quran, dua, prayer times and related features. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising or tracking.

• Account details: when you create an account, we process your email address and an optional display name through Firebase Authentication (a Google service).
• Khatm information: if you create or join a Khatm, we store the details you enter (such as the name of the deceased, an optional description, and which parts you read).
• Goals & reflections: daily goals and personal reflections you choose to save are stored so you can access them across sessions.
• Custom content: duas and categories you create are stored locally on your device.

With your permission, the app uses your device location to calculate accurate prayer times and the Qibla direction for your area. Your coordinates are sent to a prayer-times service (Aladhan API) solely to compute these times. We do not store your location history, and you can deny or revoke location access at any time in your device settings, and the app remains usable without it.

Much of your data, including reading progress, bookmarks, your custom duas, dhikr counts, statistics and notification preferences, is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to us. Removing the app deletes this local data.

With your permission, Youssor schedules local reminders (for prayer, Quran, dhikr, duas, Friday, and more). These are generated on your device. You can turn any category on or off, adjust times, or disable all notifications from within the app or your device settings.

• Firebase (Google): authentication and secure cloud storage for your account, Khatms, goals and reflections.
• Aladhan API: prayer time and Qibla calculations based on location.
• Quran content & audio: Quran text, translations and recitation audio are retrieved from public Quran APIs and recitation servers.

We use your information only to provide and improve the app's features: to keep you signed in, sync your Khatms and progress, calculate prayer times, and send the reminders you have enabled. We do not sell your data, show ads, or track you across other apps or websites.

Your account data is kept while your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and associated cloud data at any time from Settings → Delete Account within the app. This removes your authentication record and your stored Firestore data.

Youssor is suitable for users of all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from children beyond what is described above. We do not use data for behavioural profiling or targeted advertising.

We rely on industry-standard security provided by Firebase, including encrypted data transmission and access rules that restrict your data to your authenticated account. No method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
